Fungal Skin Infection Primer

Here is a quick overview of the general skin manifestations of invasive fungal infections, as taught by Lindy Fox at our M&M conference today!
  • Large lesions, few in number, central necrosis with surrounding erythema or purpura: Aspergillus or Mucor
  • Small papules (~3-5 mm in size), multiple (10-20 lesions), central necrosis: Fusarium
  • Small lesions (2-3mm in size), multiple (10-20 lesions), central pallor: Candida
